Movers company reviews from Helen
Good morning, I've been developing on a service for a long time: bearmovereview [dot] org
I posted forthright reviews of companies, and my site was immediately shut down for that.
Below is an example of a review of one company, so that this forum does not have a problem, I have removed all the details.
Question: do you think such reviews violate any law? should I consult a lawyer?

Arrived 2 hours late when stated we were on a tight schedule dude to a toddler. Left half our belongings in departure state (800 miles away). DAMAGED ALL WORK OUT OUT EQUIPMENT! DAMAGE THE 5,000$ TV. STOLE OUR ELECTRICS AND GUNS!!! Paid in full upfront. Refused accountability for ANYTHING!!!

They started out great, very helpful and available. Once they packed up my belongings everything went to ****. They were late delivering the items changing the date multiple times. Day of delivery they were 4 hours later than they said. Once receiving the items they lost or damaged 90% of the items they were responsible for. The only items that made it safely were the boxes I packed myself. They lost everything from TV stands to my entire bed set. damaged my new dryer, my tables, ripped my mattresses and the list goes on and on. They told me I had to file a claim and that it wasn't their issue now it was the claim adjusters. this was beginning of January.... I still have yet to get any type of resolution. Absolutely DO NOT use this company

Bait and switch is an excellent description. I have all my telephone conversations and text with *** *. He did my quote virtually because of covid..I had wonderful pictures of every room and we went over each piece of furniture being moved. I received my quote and signed the contract. I got 4 quotes and they were all about $9k more for the same services. I had multiple conversations with *** * and he assured me the quote was firm. If I shipped less the quote would be amended. I did ship about 1/3 less of actual furniture. I paid $3k down and waited for moving day...movers arrived 3+ hrs late in a **** rental truck nothing like the truck on the website. Walked into the house did an assessment and said it would be an extra $8k for the move and we would need another **** rental which I would have to pay for..claimed that *** * was new and did a lousy job with the quote. I was closing the next day and had no choice but to continue...they literally threw things into boxes without wrapping...I will post the pictures on another site. I never heard from *** * again. I tried multiple times to contact him to explain to me what was going on. They contacted me 1 day before delivery and I had to scramble to get a storage container because my house was not ready. They literally tossed everything into the container breaking a leg off a chair and crushing many boxes. As a bonus after removing their packing blankets they threw the tape and junk into the container. Of course they would not unload anything until they were paid in full. I certainly obliged them with the full payment....all in $20's. Beware is all I can say. The truck they arrived in was some white painted over moving truck that had a tiny sign on the lower driver side which I also took a picture of...I paid the same as I would have with ********* or ****** *** ******

Bait and Switch Company. DO NOT USE!!!! Company will quote you a reasonable price and take a deposit up front. They will then show up to your home and tell you another price. Mine was 3X the original price. They did not return my deposit when I said I would not pay the new estimate and did not want them moving me. I had to call the police to my home to get them to leave.

We are sorry about your experience ********. We always make sure that our quotes are as accurate as possible based on the items discussed in the move order. Most of our estimates that we provide to our customers are done so, over the phone. You and your sales representative built the estimate room by room to make sure that all your items were accounted for and recorded in writing, in your contract. After we build the estimate, we send it back to our customers for verification in order to make sure all their items are on the list. After the customer checks everything twice on the Move Order and on all goods we ALWAYS ask you to initial under the "Inventory Checkmark Spreadsheet" and "Inventory List Categorize by Room". WE NEVER TAKE A DEPOSIT AND SCHEDULE THE MOVE BEFORE OUR CUSTOMER REVIEWS THE INVENTORY. Your move was then rescheduled. Original price was 5k for 128 items and it included everything. The price of 15k was for 2 full 26 ft trucks. After visual estimates, that our FOREMANS always do before starting the job, we counted over 280 items and offered the price of 9k. You canceled the move and told the guys to leave. Everytime a customer cancels their move because the price increased, we go over all recorded phone calls that we have had with the customer. This is to double check the accuracy of the estimate and the verbal agreement. I don't want to blame you as a customer, but at the same time, be honest and respond fairly to our negative reviews. Our sales consultant did a great job and didn't miss any item that was mentioned verbally and reviewed in print. All of our calls are recorded to ensure accuracy. If a customer never mentions more than half of the items that he actually has to move, we have no choice but to charge for the actual amount of labor and storage. I would however like to say we are sorry to everyone for what happened. Moving is a stressful business for all parties involved and some things don't go as planned.
